L line -brazed plate heat exchangers from AIC provide top performance in a small package. Stainless steel plates closely packed together with brazing material (copper or nickel) are suitable for a variety of commercial or industrial applications (refrigeration, cooling, air conditioning). Corrugated plates brazed together at the edges produce highly turbulent flow in a counter-current direction. Smaller in volume and weight, L series from AIC is a cost-effective alternative to traditional shell and tube heat exchangers.
Brazed plate units present high efficiency in a very compact design, excellent corrosion resistance and reliable and rugged construction.
Copper-brazed units can be operated at temperatures of up to 230°C (445°F) and pressures up to 33 bar (478 psi).
Nickel-brazed units can be operated at temperatures of up to 350°C (662°F) and pressures up to 16 bar (232 psi).
- The entire construction is sealed together by the means of brazing a special vacuum furnace.
- Special corrugated patterns promote high turbulence flow.Turbulence dramatically improves heat transfer rates and reduces the amount of deposits inside the unit
Brazed Plate heat exchangers consist of stainless steel plate packs, which have embossed chevron patterns. The plates are turned 180 to each other, causing the plate ridges to intersect, and creating a lattice of intersection channels. The fluids can flow in counter-current or co-current ways.
